When “It” Shows Up by @LoreaSample

So, we’re into the second quarter of the year and some goals have been met and some completely blown. I mean just blown to smithereens like the Death Star inhalation in Star Wars. I mean, they deserved it because anyone that tries to come up against Luke Skywalker and The Force earns the title of their efforts to be labeled as an “Epic Fail”. But why is that? Why are some goals met and some just left to fall by the wayside until next year when we vow to accomplish them….again? In my humble opinion, it boils down to 1 thing: Preparation.

I’ve done it, time and time again. I’ve asked God, or even myself, for something specific to show up in my life and when it came, I wasn’t ready to receive it. I’d ask for more of my ideal clients to invest in my business, they’d show up, and I wasn’t ready. I’d ask for my “ideal” man to show up in my life, he’d show up, and I’m convinced that I’ve missed a potential husband at least 2 times in my life because….you guessed it, I wasn’t ready. After a while, the things that I would ask for stopped showing up because I didn’t respect the opportunities enough to even have them presented to me because of my lack of preparation.

You see, there are some universal principles and laws that just will not change because we slay on the runway of life everyday, even on Sundayyyyy (yes, I can bust a rhyme or two). We really are not that special. The truth is this, when you put your request out into the atmosphere of divine opportunities and the request is answered, the opportunity is in sincere EXPECTATION to be seized! If it is not seized it will take it’s awesomeness to someone else who respects it enough to be READY!

Think about it. How would you feel if you were told, after starvin’ like Marvin all day, that dinner will be ready and on the table at 6 o’clock, but the chef started cooking at 6 o’clock?! I don’t know about you but I’d be mad! Naw, I’d be Super Mad because I love food too much for my emotions to be played with on that level! I mean seriously, lives are at stake when I’m hungry! Everybody knows that food makes everything better. Everything. Being ready isn’t about the stars being aligned when the clock strikes 7:49 PM while we’re experiencing a full moon during the month of Lent. No. It’s about being in prep mode which enables you to be ready instead of getting ready when opportunity presents itself. Period.

So, the next time you complain, beg, and plead for “it” to show up in your life, ask yourself if you’re prepared to seize “it” when “it” shows up?
