Describe your business in 3 sentences.

Women who are just starting out creating their own business are my passion!

I’ve been there, done that and now I love to provide design & copywriting services to people like me who just need a boost of inspiration and direction to really get going. I’m a self-taught designer and educated copywriter in love with small business.

How long did it take to get started?

Ages and ages! I always knew I wanted to start my own business, but I was getting my degree in creative writing, and I didn’t have enough time/scholarships to change to design or business. So, I had to teach myself. I did pretty much everything wrong when starting a company that you can do. But you know what? I learned how NOT to start a business! Which is why I now specialize in helping people who are just starting out.

What business tools have helped you the most?

Small Business Bodyguard by Ash Ambirge – it’s like a crash course in legally starting & running a small business. they specialize in online businesses, but it’s useful for everyone just starting out!

YOUTUBE! I know it’s not technically a “business resource” but it IS amazing how much you can learn there and be inspired. If you’re stuck, someone’s been there before you. Follow Alex Beadon’s Chatty Tuesdays and thank me later.

What advice would you give someone just starting out?

Don’t give up! It can be frustrating, confusing, and really scary to start your own business. Especially when everyone keeps asking you when you’re going to give up this silliness and get a real job. It’s ok. Just because they’re not meant to be their own bosses  doesn’t mean you have to settle for 9 to 5 as well.

What is your favorite quote?

2 Timothy 1:7 “But God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.”

This means so much to me because even when I am afraid of trying to start my own business and stand on my own, even when I think I can’t do it, God has already given me power. He’s given me self-control.  I CAN actually get up before my “real job” and work on this client’s fifteenth revision. He hasn’t given me fear. I don’t need to Power, love and self-control are already in me, I just have to remember.

Where can we find you?
