What If You’re The Worlds BEST Kept Secret? by @xoxoamyjo

December 17, 2015 by Amy Jo Leave a Comment

What if you're the worlds BEST kept secret-soulpaintco.com

by Amy Jo | Featured Contributor

What an awesome week it’s been so far. Yesterday, I took the day to treat myself to a shopping spree with my grandparents. We shopped until we dropped, people! I can’t even remember the last time I went shopping and actually bought new clothes. I may have opened a can of worms, ha! I wanted to share something with you that I heard awhile ago on a virtual training and has stuck with me since:

“What if you’re the worlds best kept secret?”

Whoa. This saying really hit home for me because I used to run my business in the shadows. I had started my business…but was too afraid to show and tell people what I was doing. Whenever someone would ask what I did for a living, I’d break into a cold sweat because I thought they would think it was dumb or they’d think I was weird, crazy, or even lazy. I’d revert to telling them that I was an art teacher (because I do teach SOME art classes here and there) and they’d say something like, “Oh! That’s great!” while I was kicking myself for, yet again, letting myself down.

So, I stayed hidden. (p.s. it’s REALLY hard to make money when you’re hiding in the shadows.)

I didn’t post on social media about what I did because I was scared someone would actually want to buy from me…and let’s face it, I felt like a fraud and like I didn’t know enough. What if they DID buy from me? What if they didn’t end up liking my program? What if they wanted a refund? What if they told all their friends how stupid my business is and then the whole world knew and began to laugh at me?

These were my thoughts. Constantly.

So, I stayed hidden.

I cried most of the time. Fetal position on the couch, no less, with my husband stroking my head saying things like, “You’ve got this!” and my mom texting me things like, “Don’t quit! This is your dream!”

But still, I stayed hidden.

It wasn’t until I discovered mindset work that things began to change for me. I realized how I was actually BLOCKING success from coming to me (by staying hidden and believing those pesky limiting beliefs). So, I began to do the work. I got into a coaching program (or two or three) to help me clear my blocks and move my business forward to where I desired it to be. And things started to happen.

Slowly.

No, it wasn’t magic. It was evidence that BLOCKS keep us stuck and in the shadows.

If you desire your life, your health, your business, your relationships to be exactly how you want them to be, it’s time to step out of the shadows, do the work, and watch your life change. Mindset blocks come from many different things: our programming, life events, etc. If you’re ready to clear out the clutter and create the life you TRULY desire, it’s time to step into your spotlight and get visible.

5 Steps To BOOST Your Sales and Make Clients Come To You by @xoxoamyjo

September 29, 2015 by Amy Jo Leave a Comment

by Amy Jo | Featured Contributor

Let me tell you a little story. Once upon a time I started a business. Yep, I had quit my job, hopped onto the entrepreneur bandwagon, and became my own boss. I had NO IDEA what I was doing. Each day, I would get up, try a few marketing things that were a total bust, and end the day feeling like a failure. What ended up happening? I made…drum roll please…ZERO dollars. Zilch. Nada. So I went back to work at the ‘ol 9-5 grind totally beaten down and discouraged. Fast forward a few years and I was ready to attempt it again. Within 2 months of quitting my 9-5 job the SECOND time, I was landing clients, being accepted into massive events around the city where my business would be in front of 40,000 people, and traveling ‘til my hearts content.

So, what changed?

The short answer: everything!

It’s no secret. When you’re in the world of entrepreneurial business, your goal is to build a business that works FOR you and provides for you. But how do you get there? Well, you KEEP MOVING FORWARD. Instead of quitting (like I did the FIRST time I tried to be my own boss) you have to keep moving forward. Here are some steps you can take RIGHT NOW to have clients begging to work with you in no time.

Get Clients that BEG To Work With You-

  1. Set yourself up as an expert – No one wants to work with someone who says things like, “I think I’m ok at coaching… I mean I’ll try and help you and stuff. But if you don’t like me I’m so sorry.” No. Just no. You HAVE to set yourself up as an expert within your field. People love numbers and figures. Isn’t saying something like this more attractive? “Within 3 months, I have doubled my monthly income from my boring 9-5, already attracted my ideal clients, traveled to gorgeous cities, and put my business in front of over 40,000 people” BOOM! How juicy is that? A line like this tells your readers…aka your future clients… that you mean business and that they NEED your service to hit those 5-figure months they desire.
  2. Brand yourself – Branding is totally my frenemy. When I started my business, I had so many directions I wanted the ‘feel’ of my website to go that I literally had a mess. Branding your business is ESSENTIAL to your growth. It shows that you have your ducks in a row and that you mean business. Think common color pallet, unique wordage, cohesive professional photos, etc. People should have an image pop into their mind when they hear/see your business.
  3. It’s all in the copy, baby – Not the best writer? No biggie. Hire a copywriter! Your copy on your website and social media should be intriguing, enticing, inviting, and all the other fancy words that mean CAPTIVATING YOUR AUDIENCE! If I wrote something like, “Hey, I’m Amy Jo and I make people happy for a living. I have a package you can buy…click here” that tells my potential client nothing. It’s not interesting or exciting and it doesn’t make them want to know more. But if I said, “Hello, I’m Amy Jo, a Success Coach who works with newbie coaches to build their rock star programs and attract their ideal clients. Often times, my clients begin attracting their first paying clients within one meeting with me. Click here to know more!” How exciting is that?! I’d totally click that link, ha!
  4. Work that sales funnel like a BOSS! If you’re new to the online business world, LISTEN UP! I WISH I had known this tip at the beginning of my business. You HAVE to have a sales funnel lined up that works FOR you. Ideally? Automated. What a sales funnel does is it works to attract your ideal clients. Typically, you give away a freebie (psst, have you downloaded mine yet?) and your future client is added to your email list. This tells you that this person is interested in what you have to offer. There’s WAY more I could say about this, but this jist of it is start building that funnel….go get ‘em tiger!
  5. Get visible – Did your stomach just turn a little? If you’re not ready to be visible with video, then start by getting a website up. Set up a Facebook page specifically for your business. Get on social media! And if you have already done these things, how visible are you being? Are you posting to Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter & Facebook, regularly? No? GET ON IT! (said with love) It’s realllllly hard to have clients beg to work with you when they can’t even find you. Show that beautiful face of your to the world! Your ideal clients will come to you.

BONUS!

  1. Get out of your own way – STOP telling yourself that no one will want to work with you. STOP telling yourself that you can’t succeed within your business. STOP STOP STOP! Begin speaking words of love to yourself. You have a desire to run a business, right? We aren’t given our desires to torment us. We’re given these desires so that we know where our purpose is and to give us a little kick in the rear when we need it. The MOMENT you shift your mindset and begin being GRATEFUL for what you have and EXCITED for what is to come, you open your heart to RECEIVE great, awesome, magnificently positive things.

Clients will come begging for you when you BELIEVE you’re worthy of their business and when you believe in YOURSELF enough to LET IT HAPPEN. Honor the hustle and reward yourself for the hard work you do each day.

You were made to be a rock star. GO SHOW ‘EM WHAT YOU’VE GOT!

5 Key Steps to a Successful Vision Board by @xoxoamyjo

July 16, 2015 by Amy Jo 1 Comment

vision board

by Amy Jo | Featured Contributor

You know when you start hearing chatter about something new – and then you hear it again…and again…and again? This is exactly what happened when I first heard about vision boards. It was a few years ago as I was stepping into the “holistic living” world when I began hearing buzz about these things people call “vision boards”. I assumed it was just an art project, similar to collage, where you cut out fancy pictures from magazine and stick them on a sheet of poster board. Seems easy enough, right?

So why was this activity getting so much more press over basic collage? I mean, do these things perform miracles or something?! HOW could a little poster board with photos on it change my life in any way?

So I began to research vision boards and the more I studied them, the more I was intrigued. These boards aren’t just photos glued to a poster board. They’re intricately picked images of your deepest desires and dreams. They’re a compilation of quotes, imagery and objects, that all come together to specifically show you EXACTLY where your life can be if you stay determined and stay motivated. Vision boards provide clarity around your goals and remind you each day to keep on truckin’. You have to put out into the universe specific, actionable goals in order for things to happen. Specific goals get specific results!

Here are 5 steps to create a rockin’ Vision Board:

  1. Choose a specific goal. I always recommend vision boards to my clients because they’re fun to make and can be hung on the wall so that EVERY DAY they can be reminded of what they are striving for. Being specific about a goal, whether making a vision board or not, is the KEY to achieving that goal. Strong goals are actionable, attainable and, of course, specific. Simply saying, “I want a better life” isn’t good enough. Instead, you might say, “I want to make $3,000 this month so I can relax knowing all my bills are paid.”
  1. See your goal. Close your eyes. Take 3 deep, solid breaths in through your nose and out though your mouth. Ahh…doesn’t that feel good? Now, with your eyes closed, what does your goal look like? How does it feel? How does it smell? What do you hear when you’ve achieved it? Getting ALL of your senses involved in setting your goal is so important. By doing this, you are stepping into the feeling of already achieving it. Doesn’t your goal feel good? Don’t you want to feel this way when it’s achieved? EXACTLY! Using all of your sense during your time of goal setting sets you up for success instantly.
  1. Fully believe your goal will happen. What good is having a goal if you’re constantly thinking, “Meh, I can’t do that.” YES YOU CAN! You made your goal actionable and achievable, remember? Recognize what you’re telling yourself about your life. Is it positive or negative? Grab on to those positive thoughts so that the negative thoughts have no other choice but to say buh-bye! You CAN achieve your goal and you WILL because in step #2 you felt how awesome achieving your goal would feel. And who doesn’t want to feel awesome??
  1. Build your board. Magazines. Books. Quotes. Photos. Objects. You name it, it should be on your board! If my vision board was “Dream Vacation to Bora Bora 2016”, I’d have sunset photos, money, dolphin photos, sand, a bikini photo, tropical fish photos, pineapple photos, and maybe I’d even throw in things that need to happen in my business to get me to Bora Bora! If I was feeling fancy, I’d put an Ocean Breeze candle by my board so that when I walked by, I’d LITERALLY smell the beach. I mean, you could go all out and have ocean waves playing in the background. As you can see in this example, ALL of my senses are involved. I’m SEEING the amazing photos. I’m SMELLING the ocean (..ish). I’m FEELING the sand. I’m HEARING the waves. I’m thinking about the TASTE of those pineapples…mmmm so good. Who WOULDN’T want to do everything they could to experience this amazing tropical island!?
  1. Soak it in. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Each and every morning, wake up and stand in front of your vision board for no less than 5 minutes. THIS is your goal. THIS is what you’re working for. THIS WILL BE YOURS! Why? Because you’re taking amazing steps RIGHT NOW to achieve your goals. You’ve taken the steps of STEPPING IN to that feeling of achieving your goal, you’ve used ALL of your senses to help keep you motivated, and you’re totally BELIEVING that you WILL accomplish what you’ve set out to do. Stand in front of your vision board again for 5 minutes before you go to bed. Try not to do anything else while you’re doing this. Why? Because it’ll distract your from the purpose of the board. The purpose is to fully be immersed in your goal so that there is no other option but to achieve it.
  1. BONUS TIP: Relax! Remember our awesome 3 deep breaths earlier? Focus on believing in yourself and trusting that you’ve got this. You were born an amazing, unique individual who is capable of EVERYTHING she sets her mind to. So take those deep breaths and achieve those amazing dreams of yours!

You can make a vision board for ANYTHING! Money, vacations, your dream home, a new car..the possibilities are endless. So the only question is, what will your next vision board be? Download my free guide to create the ultimate vision board that works FOR you.
