It’s that time of year again, you’ve got your new diary organized, you are doing great in sticking to those resolutions you made for the new year, you renewed your gym membership telling yourself that you will go more this year. But lets face it, one thing we all forget to do is take a little time to relax and distress. Taking some time for yourself doesn’t always have to break the budget, so here are some budget friendly ways to pamper yourself this month because if you’re anything like me I don’t need an excuse to take time to reconnect with yourself.
Unplug from the world, turn the TV off, snuggle up and take some time to read that book you’ve been meaning to read. There is nothing better then leaving reality for a little while and getting into a fantasy world you are reading about.
At Home Spa Night , if you have never done this before you are missing out. I am sure you received some great goodies over the holiday that you can use for this, so no need to go out and buy anything. Draw yourself a hot bath using some great aromatherapy; give yourself a facial using products you have at home. Paint your nails a new trendy colour. This spa night will leave you feeling refreshed, relaxed and looking beautiful.
Adult coloring books , this has become a huge trend recently. I was a little skeptical of this but having tried this I was amazed at how relaxing it actually is. Focusing on the colours, and staying in the lines really blocks out other thoughts and stresses. There’s a huge range for every taste from gorgeous forest and ocean illustrations to pop culture favorites.
New Haircut Something as simple as an appointment at the hair salon for a fresh haircut or new hairdo is a great way to pamper yourself. Not only will you get a fresh look sometimes its nice to sit in a chair have someone play with your hair and maybe even have a great conversation.
Light a candle, A scented candle has the ability to transform the ambiance in a room from energized to relaxed. Don’t think the only time you can light a candle is when you’re soaking in the bathtub. Try lighting a candle when you’re doing everyday things at home like working on the computer, or reading. I love lighting a candle throughout the day and I tend to like scented candles that reflect my mood.
Enjoy a soothing beverage; it’s totally up to you what you want this to be. It can be a glass of wine, a new smoothie recipe you want to try or a herbal tea you love. The important thing is that you take the time to enjoy it, even if it is only for a few minutes.
Pampering yourself doesn’t have to be difficult or expensive. Most of the time, it’s the well-spent 20 minutes that will turn our day around, prepare our mind and bodies for a relaxed refreshed feeling.

Hi Pavlina,
You’ve given us some great suggestions here and I agree with all of them. Getting a new hair styles does it for me and so does unplugging to catch up on my reads.
I haven’t tried an adult coloring book but I’ve been curious.
Thanks for sharing. Have a great week!
