You want to increase your website conversion rate, right?
In order to make money from a website you need to turn passive viewers into active participants. Whether your money is made from people buying products, entering their email or filling out a form, it can be hard to convince people to take action. This is called a website conversion rate, and here are some tips to increase it.
Keep it simple
If there are fields to fill out, make them simple and as few as possible. Only ask for the most necessary information that is needed. Long forms are going to decrease conversions.
Refund policy
By telling your customers that that you stand by your products and will allow all returns, you give them peace of mind.
Keep words active
Be direct and to the point with your wording. Use active verbs that are simple yet exciting and promote action. Here are some sample words that help website conversions: start, stop, build, join, and earn.
Consumer reviews
Word of mouth is still a trusted source of information. Before any major purchases or website interactions, customers want to know that previous customers had a positive experience. By providing testimonials from previous customers you can show that your products or services are worthwhile.
Be specific
Your product or service has good features, so tell your customers exactly why they should be buying it.
Make your headline strong
The headline of your website is like the title of a book and people still judge books by their covers. Make sure that your headline is strong and clear.
Use videos
Some people are auditory learners, some are visual learners. By including a video that explains the purpose of your website, you can engage all types of learners.
Be happy
If you use pictures, make sure they are of happy people. Visitors are easily suggestible, and if your website has a happy vibe to it, it will translate into happy users.
Contact information
Provide contact information in an easy to find location on your website. If possible, try to offer multiple ways for customers to contact you. Older customers may prefer phone or email, while younger customers may prefer instant messaging.
Keep information private
Nobody wants to be called by telemarketers or have their mailbox be full of flyers or spend the first 10-minutes of their days deleting junk mail. By including a privacy statement, website viewers can be at ease knowing that their information will not be given to a third party.
Payment options
Offer different ways for customers to pay so that control is given to them. Older customers may not have a paypal account, or want to go through the hassle of creating one. By offering multiple ways to pay you can target multiple demographics.
Images
Nobody wants to click on your website and see the same stock photo that is making the rounds as a Facebook meme. Use pictures that pertain to your product or service. Be unique. Make sure that these images are professional to add to the tone you want to set for your website.
Getting users to your website is only half the battle. Once there you want to ensure that your customers interact with your website. You can increase your website conversion rate by paying attention to these small details so that the result is big dividends.
