Get Your Business On TikTok Now Or Regret It Later

A couple of years ago, TikTok was underestimated as a social network for kids. Today, it is the fastest growing social media platform in the world with more than 30 million active users in the U.S. alone.

This phenomenon, however, is not new. Facebook and Instagram received similar labels in their early days and look at where they are now.

If there is anything we should learn from these trends, is that the sooner you hop in, the easier it’ll be to grow and see results.

Why You Should Include TikTok on your Social media Strategy

1. Once in a lifetime opportunity

Launching a TikTok account today is similar to what it was to start with Youtube in its beginnings. For reference, The results that took 2 months back then can now take up to a year.

While competition in Tiktik grows every day, the platform is still in its early stages, and getting a piece of the pie is relatively easy.

2. Your audience is already there

TikTok is far from being a kids’ social network as it was once perceived to be. As MarketingCharts TikTok data shows, over 50% of TikTok users in the US are aged 18-34. Moreover, a quarter of US TikTok users are 45-64 which proves that its appeal is not limited to the younger crowd.

Additionally, 37% of users have a household income of more than $100,000. This shows that not only users of all ages are using TikTok but they also have the economic capacity to buy from you.

3. Not just for dances

Some of TikTok’s most popular creators are famous for their dances but you won’t need to learn a new choreography every day to be successful.

Entrepreneurs like Jera Foster-Fell and Tori Dunlap are perfect examples of how you can grow a TikTok account without dancing.

But if you enjoy it, by all means, go for it!

4. Easy to use

TikTok videos can be a maximum of 60 seconds long so it shouldn’t take you more than a couple of minutes to make one.

Additionally, users expect the content to be natural and unpolished so you don’t need to worry about editing or adding fancy effects.

How to be successful on TikTok?

Now that you are —hopefully— convinced of the growth TikTok can bring to your business, here are some tips you can use to dominate it from day one.

1. Hop on TikTok Trends Fast

In TikTok, trends are a big deal. The platform has its unique type of content where users can combine sound clips and music with their own videos. Once a certain clip starts to go viral, everyone will make their own variation and hop on the trend-train.

As a new content creator, hitting a trend gives you the opportunity to be discovered by the millions of users who are watching related videos.

But trends go as fast as they come so get on them quickly before the next one rolls in.

2. Be specific with your niche

TikTok can work for any niche but users who want to see pets videos are not the same as those who want to see business tips or fitness advice.

Keeping your content consistent will help users get a clear idea of your brand and will help the algorithm to put you in front of the right audience.

3. Post consistently

TikTok videos don’t compete with each other as they do on other platforms. On Facebook or Instagram, every time you make a new post, your previous one loses a bit of reach.

On TikTok, the more you publish, the more reach and impressions you get.

Posting once a day is a good benchmark but if you want to do it more often, there is no reason to hold back.

4. Broad and specific hashtags

TikTok hashtags help you get discovered and “tell” the algorithm what your videos are about.

There’s no definitive guide to which hashtags are the most effective but a combination of content-specific hashtags, and platform-related hashtags can help you get more followers.

For example, if you are following a trend, you want to use the trend’s tag and include others more specific to your own niche.

5. Always add a call to action

TikTok is amazing to reach big audiences BUT you need to move them down a customer funnel if you want to monetize those views Whether you send them to a Youtube channel, a landing page, or a blog, make sure to tell viewers what to do next.

You don’t want a video to go viral without a CTA and lose the opportunity to convert those millions of views into paying customers.

6. Have Fun

Finally, enjoy the spirit of the platform and leave the seriousness for Linkedin.

TikTok is a great opportunity to experiment, and show a more human side of your brand. The more authentic you are, the easier it’ll be for users to connect with you.

Bottom Line

Hope this article has inspired you to get started with TikTok and take advantage of this opportunity. Content and consistency are the keys to success on the platform so stay focused on those and you will see result
