For most of my life I’ve craved three things: prosperity, love, and joy.
My gut tells me that you may be into these three things too.
There’s all kinds of rules and check lists across the interwebs on how to create these things in our life, but honestly I think it’s a lot simpler than most of us think.
Here’s my Cliff’s Notes version on how to get into the flow and attract these things rather than going about it the hard way.
1. Choose How You Want To Feel
In order to experience more prosperity, love, and joy we have to open ourselves to receiving them. When we are closed off and constricted, stuck in worry, fear and resentment we aren’t open to opportunities and all of the amazing experiences that can literally fall in our lap when we are present, clear, and engaged with life.
Are you waiting to feel good? Every single day, in every single situation, you have the choice to be contracted and closed-off or open and connected. It’s up to you which way you choose to show up.
No one else has control over who you choose to be and it’s not their responsibility to “feather your nest” so that you can be happy. Stuff happens, and it’s up to us to decide to be okay, happy, healthy, open-hearted, and in the flow or not. We don’t have to wait for situations to clear up or some milestone in the future in order to feel how we want to feel.
The past is gone and the future is only an illusion. All we have is this moment right now. Life is short; we might as well enjoy every minute that we can.
You want more of the good stuff? Start looking for it everywhere in your life right now, and appreciate the heck out of it, even if that’s only in a few spots. Keep your focus on how you want to feel instead of how you don’t want to feel.
Appreciation is like a magnet to attracting more prosperity, love, and joy.
2. Get Clear On How You Want It To Look
Once you open yourself up to prosperity, love, and joy, the next step is deciding what that would look like for you.
Once you’ve got that down, hold that vision in your mind as often as possible. A lot of people think that visualizing is just for the airy-fairy woo-woo types, but actually there is all kinds of science that backs up why visualizing things the way you want them to play out actually has a positive affect.
Here’s the thing, it’s not just about seeing it in your mind. It’s about what happens after you align your energy.
Deliberately placing your attention on what you want creates intention and it opens up your creative genius juices. When you line up your energy and get clear on what you want, you stop blocking yourself and making excuses for why things aren’t the way you want them to be.
You spend more time being inspired and less time feeling sorry for yourself.
The more you consciously focus your attention toward what you want, the more focused you will be in your actions.
Success isn’t just about taking action. It’s about taking inspired action.
3. Clear Your Blocks
“It’s also helpful to realize that this very body that we have, that’s sitting right here right now, with its aches and it pleasures, is exactly what we need to be fully human, fully awake, fully alive.”
— Pema Chodron
I love this quote because it makes us realize that we have all that we need right now. There is no lack and things do always work out according to our expectations.
Once you’ve chosen how you want to feel on a day-to-day basis (not at some far off point in the future) and then you decide how you want that to look (lining up your energy), the next step is clearing any blocks that may be standing in your way.
Sometimes it’s tough to see our own blocks and that’s where a good coach can be helpful. That being said, I assure you, once you make a conscious decision to begin looking for them, you’ll begin to see what’s holding you back.
It’s time to get honest and ask yourself some powerful yet vulnerability-inducing questions. Here are a few good ones to start with:
Am I miserable right now in order to punish others?
Am I stalling my growth because I stubbornly want other people to do things for me in order to make me feel safe?
Am I cycling in my pain because I’m being lazy with my thoughts and behaviors?
Best one of all:
Am I willing to let go of old, self-debilitating thoughts and behaviors in order to replace them with new, more empowering ones?
Life can become incredibly prosperous, love and joy-filled when we’re willing to say YES to change leaving self-sabotage and victim mentality in our dust.
What’s one way you can implement these steps in order to bring more prosperity, love, and joy into your life?

Ah! This is good. Picturing a goal and describing the *after* you want is a great way to really define it – for real.
It also sort of forces us to be realistic about how we get there too – if you see it, you have to make it show up.
Thanks for the great post!
