What If You’re The Worlds BEST Kept Secret? by @xoxoamyjo

What if you're the worlds BEST kept secret-soulpaintco.com

What an awesome week it’s been so far. Yesterday, I took the day to treat myself to a shopping spree with my grandparents. We shopped until we dropped, people! I can’t even remember the last time I went shopping and actually bought new clothes. I may have opened a can of worms, ha! I wanted to share something with you that I heard awhile ago on a virtual training and has stuck with me since:

“What if you’re the worlds best kept secret?”

Whoa. This saying really hit home for me because I used to run my business in the shadows. I had started my business…but was too afraid to show and tell people what I was doing. Whenever someone would ask what I did for a living, I’d break into a cold sweat because I thought they would think it was dumb or they’d think I was weird, crazy, or even lazy. I’d revert to telling them that I was an art teacher (because I do teach SOME art classes here and there) and they’d say something like, “Oh! That’s great!” while I was kicking myself for, yet again, letting myself down.

So, I stayed hidden. (p.s. it’s REALLY hard to make money when you’re hiding in the shadows.)

I didn’t post on social media about what I did because I was scared someone would actually want to buy from me…and let’s face it, I felt like a fraud and like I didn’t know enough. What if they DID buy from me? What if they didn’t end up liking my program? What if they wanted a refund? What if they told all their friends how stupid my business is and then the whole world knew and began to laugh at me?

These were my thoughts. Constantly.

So, I stayed hidden.

I cried most of the time. Fetal position on the couch, no less, with my husband stroking my head saying things like, “You’ve got this!” and my mom texting me things like, “Don’t quit! This is your dream!”

But still, I stayed hidden.

It wasn’t until I discovered mindset work that things began to change for me. I realized how I was actually BLOCKING success from coming to me (by staying hidden and believing those pesky limiting beliefs). So, I began to do the work. I got into a coaching program (or two or three) to help me clear my blocks and move my business forward to where I desired it to be. And things started to happen.

Slowly.

No, it wasn’t magic. It was evidence that BLOCKS keep us stuck and in the shadows.

If you desire your life, your health, your business, your relationships to be exactly how you want them to be, it’s time to step out of the shadows, do the work, and watch your life change. Mindset blocks come from many different things: our programming, life events, etc. If you’re ready to clear out the clutter and create the life you TRULY desire, it’s time to step into your spotlight and get visible.
